Canopy (Zipline) Guide: Canopy Guides are responsible for instructing and
leading participant groups on the zip course. This position requires a strong
commitment to safety and understanding of risk management. Qualified
applicants participate in a training program and must pass both written and
on-the-job skill tests. Responsibilities include: leading orientation sessions and
conducting proper screening of participants, overseeing the progress of an
assigned participant group, conducting visual and physical inspections of the zip
course, and providing constant feedback regarding tour quality. Applicants must
be able to hike, climb to and rappel from great heights, and have full range of
overhead arm movement to pull two people along cables. Minimum high school
diploma or equivalent required. Applicants must be available to work from
mid-April through September.
Tour Coordinator (Dock Rep.): Tour Coordinators are responsible for meeting and
instructing arriving and departing guests. Qualified employees must posses
knowledge of the entire tour and be able to explain facts and details to guests.
Applicants must have strong customer service orientation and understanding of
financial transactions. Responsibilities include: proper screening of participants,
dispatching transportation, sales support for company products, brochure
distribution, collection of payments, maintaining sales records, and soliciting
feedback regarding tour quality. The Tour Coordinator positively represents the
company to cruise lines, groups, and individual customers. Organized,
well-dressed, and outgoing applicants with customer service backgrounds
preferred. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Minimum high school
diploma or equivalent required. Positions available from May through September.
Marine Personnel (Deckhand): Marine Personnel are responsible for the overall
safety of guests traveling across the Gastineau Channel to access our Juneau tour
site. This position requires safety-conscious people who are able to react quickly
and efficiently in an emergency situation. Customer service and the ability to
engage guests in conversation are a must! Marine Personnel report to the Boat
Captain and are responsible for helping with general maintenance of the jet boats.
CPR/First Aid certification required. Drug test required. Previous deckhand
experience preferred. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
Positions available from May through September.
Boat Captain: Boat Captains are responsible for operating an 18-passenger jet boat
across the Gastineau Channel, transporting guests to and from our Juneau tour
site. The Boat Captain must hold a 25 Ton Masters License, current CPR/First Aid
certification, and pass a drug test. Boat Captains must be extremely safety
conscious and are responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of two
vessels. The Boat Captain must be enthusiastic, have great customer service
skills, be able and willing to engage guests in conversation, and deliver an
informative narration during the Channel crossing. Previous experience with jet
boats and marine safety in Alaskan waters is preferred. Minimum high school
diploma or equivalent required. Applicants must be available to work from May
through September.
Driver Guide: Driver Guides are responsible for transportation of customers and
crew in a safe and timely manner. Duties include a certain level of maintenance
and narration. Commitment to safety and strong customer service skills are a
must. Responsibilities include: Ensuring all guests are properly informed
regarding safety procedures while onboard, always following traffic rules and
safety procedures while driving, and performing daily and weekly vehicle
maintenance and repairs. Training may be provided for qualified applicants.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum age of 21. A valid CDL
license with passenger endorsement required. Must have a clean driving record.
